Christmas music and hot weather
Another day, another port I have already been to. Today was a lovely day regardless because the weather was just perfect. It was actually hot, as in I was over dressed in my dress and cardigan. Another weird thing is when we got off the ship to grab a coffee at starbucks, we were sat by the pier, drinking our Christmas coffee's with Christmas music playing. It was very very surreal. I am so not used to anything ...
Our first Port of Call
Our first port of call was Kudasasi Turkey. This is the port to get you to Ephesus which contains the ruins of a city dating to 3000BC. Brad and I had been to Ephesus two years earlier and decided this day would be used to get use to the ship and rest up for the next week which will be filled with many long days. We did go ashore to walk around the port area which had a bazaar with many shops and cafes. As we were getting off of the ship ...
Samos Island, Greece, My Rebound Country
... good thing I was wearing my quick dry hiking skort). The waterfall and the sun trickling through the trees was really a beautiful slice of nature. Fabulous hike.

The hike back down the ladders was much more difficult than the hike up, but I made it safely down. I took my ...
Ephesus and The Virgin Mary's Home
Today we visited Ephesus and the Home of the Virgin Mary in Kusadasi, Turkey (I have officially made it to 4 contients!) The Home of the Virgin Mary was really intense. It was strange to be walking where the Mother of Jesus lived out her final days. I was not sure how I would feel there, but I honestly cannot describe the feeling!
We then went to Ephesus, an ancient town that has been discovered and is ...
Going back in time to Ephasus
... times.
On our way back to the ship we were taken to a Turkish Carpet weaving place in Kusadasi, which was very interesting. We were taken into a room where a young lady was weaving a carpet with silk thread. She was very quick, but even so it takes many weeks to complete a carpet. We were given a drink and then shown some different sized carpets made of wool or wool/cotton or silk. They were beautiful and the prices ranged from US$400 to US$25,000. We were ...
