19th
Spent a few hours hiking through the forest next to the Lodge, before heading down to Breckenridge and wandered around the town.

20th
The morning starts off with another hike into the forest. Then its time for my friend Gerry to arrive from Cleveland Ohio.

21st, 22rd
These days are spent sightseeing in the car. Bonus was seeing a mother moose very close to the Lodge.

Tomorrow we begin our adventure to the west coast

Had a mixed day at Loveland. Lindsay and I drove to Loveland early and got on the slopes by 10:30 or so. Kirk, Chris and Vienne didn't get there until noon.

  • Weather was great
  • Ski conditions were great
  • Lindsay really elevated her confidence with skiing
  • We skied all the blues runs
Unfortunately we didn't get to ski with Kirk, Chris and Vienne as they ended up ...

... good thing! Then back to Peak 9, where we ended the day coming down Colombia to Lower American - it was great! We both really enjoyed the blues and greens, and were skiing together! Such a great day - the weather was lovely - sunny and warm, up to about 25 degrees. Back to the condo, changed clothes and headed out. Stopped by Ollie's pub and had a drink before dinner. I had a Mountain Mule - very good! A young lady next to me chatted for a bit - ...

... green runs higher than the Quicksilver, so we went up that one and Zac started to look pretty good down the longer runs.

I went to the top of Peak 9 with a couple from St Louis, and the wife reckoned this was about the most miserable conditions she had skied in. Sitting on the chairlift in strong wind, and no visibility, with icicles forming on my whiskers, I could see why she said that. But the snow was great, and I had a great run back down ...
