We got a good start on the day with a bike ride on a very nice paved bike trail road. Perfect for me, I hadn't ridden a bike in 7 years. Getting back on the horse was less stressful! First trip we've taken with the bikes so have to make it worthwhile carting them around. Antelope Island is in Salt Lake, discovered by Kit Carson in the 1800s. It is 28,000 acres home to buffalo, antelope, and habitat to 250 species of birds. Four to six million birds nest here each year. ...

So I made my way back to the now familiar KOA Kampground in SLC. It was nice to see it again. I even started to remember the sights on Redwood Road as I rode the opposite way. Some of the people even recognized me when I got back there. Made myself some dinner in the little general store they had (didn't know you couldn't put metal in a microwave!). And back to my little tent site.
Tomorrow I would go explore Salt Lake City.
We left Sundance and headed across the Thunder Basin Grasslands to Caspar. The views were fantastic, great open plains and gentle rolling hills. Although it looks flat from a distance the area is full of small gorges, gulleys, and creeks, and deer of course (safely behind fences).
At the town of Wright is the Thunder Basin Mine. They have three rail lines running into the mine, BNSF, ...
... only the highs and lows but the grey areas of that, as well. Shot in L.A. During the Q&A, the producer said that they are "dating" several studios that are interested and are waiting to get married :)
Just counted them up and I saw 20 films in 5 days! Sundance has been one of the most amazing experiences in my life. I hope to return!
