... of the Quechee Gorge complete with a descending hot-air balloon. On into Woodstock which turned out be a very pleasant, touristy village with the usual range of tourist shops and cafés. We ambled along looking primarily for the Information Office. We planned to do a walk today in the surrounding hills and the local info office could supply appropriate routes and directions. Mount Tom was our aim, a steady 16000 feet climb - yeah, ok, one too many 0s. Armed with ...

Slept in a little this morning but were still on the road just after 9 am. Had not been to Bunker Hill yesterday so drove there this morning. Traffic still heavy going towards the city - probably like that most of the time. There was an interesting intersection near the hotel to negotiate. It was a round about with a street going through the middle of it and the entrances controlled by lights.

We were lucky enough to find a free park at the Bunker Hill Monument ...

    ... And he was right.

Bright and and sunny all day with blue skies and big white, puffy clouds. My absolute favorite kind of day.

No treacherous riding conditions, no drivers trying to run me over. And the last hour was fun sweepers into Bennington! Beautiful scenery!

Very nice hotel room, finally. TV works, remote works, hair dryer works, free cookies and ...
