    ... days. We enjoyed that after our folk concert. Then we took a short bus ride for a folk dance program. It was put on just for our group, and was amazing! A band, women's choir, and dancers entertained us for about 45 minutes. Then it was OUR turn on stage! Luckily we had practiced earlier! It was a wonderful finale to our evening!     ... and he was tried for treason. As a major supporter of Bacho, the mayor hired Bacho a really good lawyer and everyone was convinced that he would get off with an insanity plea. Bacho very likely would have if he had not stood up just before the verdict was given and stated that he was of sound mind when he helped hatch the plan and if he was released he would do it again. Needless to say he was convicted and killed along with his co-conspirators.

    ... a giant inflatable Nescafé mug and someone talking over a loudspeaker. I found out the next day that there was a mountain biking festival going on; cyclists were biking through the hills next to VT, down the hill of Varusha (the old town), emerging at this monument junction and then continuing through the town. We didn't get to see any of the actual cycling though.

    ... we walked towards the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Sophia's most iconic attraction, and went inside. It was beautiful inside, a large space - no pews or seats in Orthodox churches - with walls and ceilings covered in frescoes and dozens of candles lit all around, which cheered Squirt up, who was a little fed up with Sofia and a little fed up with being cold.
