Up to Tre Rose for breakfast then Roger met Luca, his riding companion for the morning. They are riding up the mountain out of Nesso and back around. He has been looking forward to this ride. Exploring Nesso is on our list today. Nesso is a reasonable size village, we guess around 1000 maybe 1500 residents. It is perched on then side of the mountain with the houses clinging precariously to the hillside. The main road from Como to Bellagio runs ...

... other way. OK, down we go again. Back to the main road and continue on. This time we decide to just take the next main road (by main road, I mean it is not a goat track) and finally we are able to follow this to an intersection with another main road and we eventually arrive at the hotel - only about half an hour late. Fabio was easy to pick out of the crowd - tall, dark, handsome Italian with huge calves and a tight butt. We'll ...

... to be a real barrier. As it happens, not many mechanics are equipped with English as a second language. There was not much alternative but to get to Locarno and re-group.
Spirits were raised by the easy discovery of our hotel, a modern, modest, but likeable place. The ever-so friendly receptionist was most welcoming and sympathetic, awarding us an "upgrade" to a suite on the top floor. ( She thought we were Irish. She likes Ireland. ) It certainly was not the Ritz, ...
