Spirits were raised by the easy discovery of our hotel, a modern, modest, but likeable place. The ever-so friendly receptionist was most welcoming and sympathetic, awarding us an "upgrade" to a suite on the top floor. ( She thought we were Irish. In no particular order, here are some of our observations….
On the average, we've seen far fewer obese adults than a similar sampling in the US.
Womens’ and girls’ scarfs are IN! We even saw a young girl in short shorts with a scarf.
Short shorts are in and cheeks are out. Roger dubbed the shorts- "cheekie peekies"

... pool below us was heated. Actually the weather is sunny and very mild temps, overheated hotel rooms and out of the wind one layer of clothing. The wind is cold but as it is not particularly windy the overall effect is warm and pleasant.
