      ... an ocean pool, a fairly impressive diving board and several sauna huts. No one was about though, summer is over and there is not a soul around. We started this gap year journey because we had enjoyed annual ski holidays in the northern hemisphere for so many years, and often wondered what the places we visited would be like in summer, and here we are in Scandinavia in September and summer is already over, imagine only having 2 months of summer a year!

      There were no surprises, it was a cool, windy morning and my naiive hopes that the forecasters had got it wrong were dashed – they were on the money. So there was nothing for it other than find things to do.

      ... Apparently, the residents of the island have collaborated in restoring these structures – they are EVERYWHERE. Also everywhere are small churches that look they were all built from the same set of plans.
