    Thousand Buddha Mountain Jinan

We went to Thousand-Buddha Hill (Qianfoshan) today. Many steps to climb to see several temples, including the huge Xingguochan Temple, the beautiful Maitreya Buddha and the lying Buddha with a Swastika on his chest, and a cave of 130 buddha statues.

We later found out that there is also Thousand Buddha Cliff which is a different place, 35 km away from Jinan with more Buddhas carved along a 35m wall.

We then went to Yinhuchi Jie (Muslim Food Street).

We booked a driver for 650yuan to take us on the 2 hour journey out to Mount Tai. This is a UNESCO world Heritage site and is one of five sacred mountains in China for thousands of years. There are 22 temples dotted around the mountain, and several hundred steps to climb to the summit. We got a bus halfway and then got a cable car, but still climbed steps up to the temples at the summit. As we arrived the summit was covered in fog ...

Will and I arrived in Jinan for Qing Ming (Tomb Sweeping) weekend break. We went to the Park which is where the Baotu Spring originates and had a wander around. It was quite cold and polluted, unlike Ningbo yesterday when it had been very warm and sunny.

Had a pizza in a lovely German restaurant by the river.

... in McDonald's and they said they need to keep a "tab" on me. We wait for them an hour at a time for the bus, so they can wait 10 minutes for fries. :) It has been a battle at times spreading our wings. The Chinese rightfully so very responsible for our safety, but are very overprotective, especially of children. Even though they do not use the phrase, "I love you," they show their love ...

... hacky sack, and almost everything else. The traditional hacky sack is made of metal rings that look like tin coins (for weight) and feathers (for flight) protruding out of the top.

Were then invited to our partners home, or we were taken to a restaurant with the other family members. I was picked up in a Cadillac, which would cost a lot more here in China due to the import tax. I can only share my personal ...
