PCT days 60-68: Old Station to Sierra City

Day 3 of 4 in Northern California (Part 1)
... huge sign painted on the windows of a building in Quincy "God Bless our Troops and Our Firefighters!"…I think that says it all. )
Stopped in a Rest Area next to the flowing Feather River…and took pix of a few of the informational signs. On this part of the trip, we saw only a few logging trucks (full and empty) and they were coming toward us…vs. riding our bumpers….So that was good.

Weighing the bags
yuck--too many things to pack and not enough room(or weight allowance)
new restrictions on luggage is making this a tough nut.
i GUESS I NEED TO WEAR THE SAME CLOTHES FOR 2 1/2 WEEKS, or pay a "fine"
somehow I can overcome this--if I leave out makeup and travel guides!

Final preps
the time is getting short--we talk among us to be sure we all have EXACTLY what we need for this trip. Now we are looking at weather forecasts. This is a good time, too to watch the vlue of the dollar--so far it has been a killer in terms of exchange--may beg better(or worse.).

Still have decided it this is the blog site I will use--our train tickets have arrived, I hve my new toothbrush, so I am ready to go. Everything I need does fit in the bag with weight to spare--
