... Portmerion is now run by a charitable trust and, presumably, they don’t have enough money to preserve it properly.

For those old enough to remember, the TV series "The Prisoner", with Patrick McGoohan, was filmed at Portmerion. Interestingly, William Ellis was educated at Oundle School – we were in Oundle before going to North Wales!

When we finally got to The Open the golf was already underway so we were a bit concerned we wouldn't get a seat in the stands we wanted but fortunately the golfers hadn't made it to the 8th hole yet so we got great seats.
