... if they needed to wait for Derek. I told him Derek had already arrived. Before long the bus arrived from the airport with the other people who just got in. We were supposed to have supper at 6:00 and it ended up being after 6:30. We finally met Mark Warther the tour leader whom we had only spoken to on the phone. His family has the Warther Museum in Dover, Ohio. There are 46 people + Mark on the tour. We sat at a table with Gene and Ellie Meder ...

The Golden Arches then east to Denver

... etc. They were not big places, but were filled with condos and expensive hours, and the slopes looked wickedly steep. No place for skies like Phil and I that had trouble figuring out how to stop on a bunny slope in NW Iowa (yes, there actually are hills big enough to ski on in Iowa).

... got a chance to meet many more people and have great talks.

We had such an amazing time in Colorado that we had to stay an extra day (left on Tuesday morning). Sarah got to spend more time with her friend Katie and woke up on Tuesday morning asking if Katie could come for a sleep over. We would love it if all the families that we've met and bonded with along this journey would come to Portland for a sleep over! :)

Flying IAD-DEN

... Economy Class is oversold by one, for a total of two seats open on the plane. I’m still third on the SA list, but the only standby who’s checked in so far. I’m also the only person checked in so far on the upgrade list. The seat map shows four BF seats open: 1K, 3L, 4L, and 5B. Fingers crossed one of them has my name on it!

If not, I’ll overnight at DEN again and try for Wednesday’s flight, which is currently showing 15 BF seats open and I’d be #8.

Bronco Fever

... fever. Not that I enjoy football all that much, it's hard to not get in the spirit of things when you are surrounded by so many fans. We drove past Larimer Street and enjoyed seeing all the Bronco banners waving over the street. Larimer Street has become a favorite stop on our trips just because it's always decorated for something. It's a lot of fun to see. We drove past the stadium. It was amazing to see so much orange.
