Here was another major metropolis that I struggled to get through, taking a few wrong turns here and there but weaves my way out of it and into Sepulpa which was a great relief, I think I may need to acquire a GPS or Tom Tom for the next time I plan on doing anything like this hahahaha. Oklahoma As we entered Oklahoma, the road reduced to a single broken tarmac road with gravel verges to allow passing. We managed a few miles of it before reaching an intersection with a later alignment. Oklahoma had been the poorest state at the time Route 66 was designated so much of the route would be poor road surface and as we found, poorly signed. ... for dessert. Then it dawned on me what was weird about the service. Everybody working at this place was high as a kite. The more I began to look at the situation through that lens, the more the whole operation began to make sense. And I can't say I blame them--there probably isn't a lot of **** to do in Tulsa otherwise, and the streets are really easy to cross.

The Journey Begins......
... We would be traveling to New Jersey via Ohio for a stop off at Meemaw and PawPaw's house, as New Jersey is a long way from Tulsa by car!
After a long evening riding in the car, we stopped in O'Fallon, IL to spend the night. The dogs were not exactly thrilled about hanging out in a hotel room, we're not sure if Ricky even slept, as he kept pacing around. Needless to say, he is not big on change!
