We couldn’t have asked for a better vacation. The whole experience with Nikki Beach Thailand Resort was awesome and excellent. Our personal caretaker took every possible care for our convenience. The room was breathtaking with spectacular views of the ocean. That hotel is truly exceptional, and the restaurant Nikki Cafe, the bar area and pool bar had excellent service with bartender Garth. If we go back to Turks we would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful beaches.

Too bad they are flanked by zealots and bikers. Been a long time since I had seen such racism co-existing with constant praise to the almighty (I know, usually go hand-in-hand).

If you are looking for a confederate flag boogie board, they have plenty to choose from.

White sand, clear aqua water...and lots of country families compliments of Alabama. If you can ...

I'm here for Bridgets wedding staying at a beachfront condo with some other Chicago classmates.  We were all down at the beach catching some rays and Kyle and I decided to throw the football for a bit in the nice clear water.  He dove for a ball and lost his wedding ring in the nice clear water.  We hunted for about an hour in the nice clear water, but were unfortunately unsuccessful.  Helicopters from the nearby airforce ...

The sky is clear and lit by the stars and the moon.  The water is pretty calm and the temperature is perfect.

This is some sort of paradise....

... Slick Fingers Lou" (Grandma Lou) was the only one that actually made any money on the trip but they all had fun. We all got to lay out a bunch on the beautiful beach in front of our beach house and we all got a fairly remarkable tan. Cory, Matt, Nicholas and I did a bunch of surfing and boogie boarding and saw a lot of marine life in the water. At night, well, lets just say that a number of us dove heavily into the spirits and had some great times playing ...

... after and desired. My next goal may be to become a snowbird! Tyndall Air Force Base has several lovely beach areas and a marina. Tyndall Beach is reached after a 10 minute nature walk along a boardwalk to the beach. This beach area is relatively untouched by tourists and not used by a lot of people. It was beautiful and peaceful with the sun glistening and reflecting on the waters. Walking alone I am vigilant for alligators ...

... before sunset--it had been raining but it only sprinkled a little while we walked.  The beach reminded me a little of The Outer Banks--houses only, no condos or high-rises.  The beach itself is quite beautiful--white sand.Dinner was at the Blue Parrot--a restaurant (maybe the only one open?) on St. George Island. We ate outside on the porch overlooking the ocean.  I had Fried Oysters, which were very good; Larry had grouper & scallops--skimpy portions.

... the boat and sailing it to the pier at the condo. Then it's a calm fishing day. Except, the first boat's motor catches on fire, out in the water. The only replacement is a pontoon, which isn't the best for casting. But nothing stops dedicated fishermen/women. There's enough fish for dinner! No suprise.

To say my family lives for fishing is an understatement. Mom's father Lew Wright lived on the trout stream. When we were old enough to be "papoosed" on his back, we were out hiking and fishing. Not that we remember any of it at that age. Lew was well known in Western Pennsylvania for his fishing skills. He retired early from Alcoa ...
