    Today, we decided to check out the original Santa Claus, IN based on a referral from a local resident. The original town was located a mile or so away from the current town center. The town's church was built in 1880 and a large statue of Santa Claus was commemorated in 1935 and faces east toward the birth place of Jesus.     Loved our stay at this nice hotel with two great pools. Brody just turned 2 so loved the water slide. Rooms have full kitchen with stove, refrigerator, dishwasher. Also has washer and dryer. Right on the beach - $30/day to rent 2 chairs and an umbrella. Nice restaurant on site. Grocery store 1.5 miles away in a shady neighborhood. 1 hour drive from the Fort Lauderdale airport.
