... bridge tender called us on 09 VHF and said that traffic was light and he'd be happy to let us pass! Of course, we were thrilled to accept his considerate offer. For any bridge -- and especially this one, with a nasty reputation for its sometimes surly operators -- such considerations are rare. Thank you, kind sir! (Tip of the hat)
