        ... could not believe how far. Spoke to man there and he answered our questions. He said it would be very busy on Friday and be prepared to wait a long while. Oh good so we will go early. Took train into city looked round shops and went into park area. Did not do too much as both felt tired. Later I went and fetched us an ice cream from baskin and Robbins while Geoff waited in park. I had to cross two busy roads with two ice creams with double scoops. ...

        ... along to millennium park where they are having the taste of Chicago festival which was brilliant. You bought coupons for the stalls, and then you could use them to buy either taster portions from the stalls or full meals, so as a result I tried some pulled pork, jerk chicken, chicken satay, breaded catfish, cheese cake, and funnel cake. The food was amazing, and here was live music and a brilliant atmosphere, the views over the skyline of Chicago as the sun set ...

        Sam (who usually finished at either 15.45 or 16.45, depending on the parents' schedules) was having to work late so Lissa would swing by between picking the girls up from a class and taking them home. She let me know when she'd be along so that I could be standing outside ready. It was a lot sooner than expected so I was left juggling my hand luggage, suitcase and full cup of tea that was still too hot for me to drink out on the snowy street corner.

        And I’m off...
        I am sitting here on the airplane only 5 hours into our journey and I am already bored out of my mind! So I thought it was the perfect time to write the blog!!! I only have 15% battery left though! Yikes!
