... town. The traffic was stop-and-go, bumper-to-bumper (but, for the most part, moving at least!) until we got past O'Hare Airport when it opened up a bit. I commented to Ruth that this would probably be the last big-city driving we would have to cope with for the rest of the trip. Yay!
We continued driving north, leaving Illinois and entering Wisconsin. Next stop... My old digs at Oxford, WI and nearby Parker Lake (where I worked a few summers in the early 1970s while in college).

... instead of going back to the apartment for a couple of hours to drink some wine, we hit the champas at the bar. Darn good Champas too! A few hours later we got a table and were informed we needed to be finished by 10pm, as the table had a reservation for then. (10pm, and just starting at the restaurant! Could you imagine Perth doing that???)
The restaurant was Called 'The Girl and the Goat.' A local lady who had won a cooking show started it up and Ill be up ...
... out Mario’s brother in law, Joel works as a barman there. This led to an endless supply of cocktails whipped up around the sort of people that own $10 million apartments in the Tower. The place is amazing, and we felt especially out of place. The most expensive drink is a Cognac that comes in a crystal bottle for a cool $7500. A single shot sets you back $650!
