... hills were covered with creeping vines that make the hillside look like it has giant plant monsters coming up out of the ground. It is really cool looking, and concerning at the same time as the plant takes over and suffocates all other vegetation. it would be great if you cook cook it and serve it up with butter or feed it to animals.

... adventures from trains, planes and automobiles! We plan on saying hi to the Pope, peer into the crater of an active volcano, sunbathe on the beaches of the Ionian Sea, marvel at the ruins of Pompeii, and eats lots of seafood and pizza. I may even have a glass of wine or two!

April 21, 2014 Chas picked me up, and drove me to REI - to get my water filter replaced. We hit up the grocery store for my resupply, and headed to the house. I went through my pack, fixed a few things, got the food bag filled, washed my clothes and took a shower. Clean and feeling civilized again :-). Thursday 17/Friday18 April, After 3 days of complete rest, I decided to test the ankles/legs....by doing a 52 mile nonstop hike, with my pack. I left at 11:30 on Thursday the 17th. First 16 miles went by quick, stopped at the shelters along the way to talk and eat - as usual. When evening came, I ate dinner, said see ya to the crew, and started on the rest of the 36 miles. Was a great evening, and night hiking was a blast.....but cold, dipped ...
