... buttons. So, that won't be accurate :(.... Oh well. And Kody got out the RV door, that I thought I shut, at the Horseshoe. She ran two trucks down and was just standing there looking back at the RV when I realized. Such a good girl, came running back in when I called her! Whew! We would of never gotten her with all of the critters out these parts! Thank you Baby ...

Yesterday, the 25th of May, Lauren Steirmen and I arrived at the airport around 5pm to find out that our flight had been cancelled due to terrible storms down in Dallas. Luckily Lauren and I were still in Omaha so we did not have to stay the night in an airport. Major thanks to my dad and Shelley for immediately searching for flights and a new flight route for the next day. Our original plan was to fly down to Dallas for a little less than 2 hours. ...

... with our impression of the smaller towns becoming dilapidated and deserted by the younger generations.

Pressing on, we soon came to the small town of Stuart. Though big enough to justify a water tower with its name on, it was still small - its sign said: "Home of 1700 good eggs and a few stinkers."

    ... away.

Cameron got to do his stall, then we headed back for a pass down the runway and a landing. After loading up, Alex and I set out at 10, and we climbed into the incredibly smooth but hazy air. We found that the top of the haze layer was 8,500', but we came back down to 6,500' to avoid some of the 20+ knots of headwind at that altitude.

Today's flight was all about avoiding the midwestern thunderstorms that plague the Plains this time ...

    ... makes you feel good.

It was very nice of Marv to team up with Gail and Mike Dwyer and Patty and Scott Meister to host a campaign event for me at the Fremont Golf Club. We surprised Marv with a big birthday cake, which he loved. We later learned that he shared the extra pieces with local people who are caregivers for those with Alzheimer's Disease. That made us even more proud of him, always thinking of others!

    Thanks, all!!!
