... would get on a 16 hour flight to Sydney, Australia. Once we were in Sydney we would take another 3 hour flight to go backwards since we flew over New Zealand. Now since our flights have all been cancelled, we will take a different and more convenient route today on the 26th of May. Today we will fly over to Phoenix, up to L. A., and then a straight shot to New Zealand. If everything goes as planned, then we should arrive by 6am Thursday the 28th of ...

For the final trek we donned wet weather gear - the clouds were darkening and looked heavy with rain, but there was very little drizzle to speak of, and we arrived at our night's stop dry and in good spirits.

... There was a line that stretched from St. Louis, through Omaha and then into the middle of South Dakota. The best plan I could come up was to aim for the southern tip near St. Louis, then turn for Omaha, our destination.

When we were about 15 miles from our planned lunch stop at a field to the North of St. Louis, it suddenly dawned on me to take Alex on an aerial tour of downtown St. Louis and the Gateway Arch. Sure enough, we flew down the ...

... I've heard of another Nebraska Republican who has served in politics for as long as Marv has. He has now put in SIXTY years as a GOP volunteer. Isn't that incredible? He started off with the late Sen. Carl Curtis in 1954 and has served a number of Republican leaders since then. Isn't it great to know about someone who has stayed that active and engaged into his 90s?

Hats off to you, Marv, and know that I deeply appreciate your support and friendship!

    ... makes you feel good.

It was very nice of Marv to team up with Gail and Mike Dwyer and Patty and Scott Meister to host a campaign event for me at the Fremont Golf Club. We surprised Marv with a big birthday cake, which he loved. We later learned that he shared the extra pieces with local people who are caregivers for those with Alzheimer's Disease. That made us even more proud of him, always thinking of others!

    Thanks, all!!!
