... Harley had failed to tighten the transmission plug and it had wound its way loose and I lost it somewhere between Chicago and Lincoln. I had travelled ` 150 miles. I was extremely lucky that the bike did not lock-up on me en-route - it does not bear thinking about if that had happened doing 60 - 70 mph.

What was I going to do ? I rang the HD hotline re my Extended Service Plan - to be told that hours were 8:00 am to 5:00pm ...

... stay the night in (they are so going to miss Walmart when we get back home !) so we settled on one in the town of Lincoln, right on the side of Route 66, or at least the road that was known as that, way back when... Walmart selection of meals for dinner and a loaf of yummy bread = dinner for $6 tonight for all of us. Neville did the honours of getting all the meals ready for us and we sat and watched Lemony Snicket whilst eating ...

... next barge pushed a loaded barge also 3 boats wide, to join the first one.

Okay it's not everyone's cup of tea, but we got fascinated by ships and locks 40+ years ago when we went to the UK by ship via the Panama Canal.
Then while in the UK we went on a couple of Canal boat holidays and again we had fun entering the locks but they're a lot smaller so one physically opened and shut ...
