So after 2 mammoth days of driving we decided to slow down the pace today and explore Oklahoma City before heading over to our stopover destination in Shamrock, Texas for the evening (a mere 166 miles away!).

Having had a leisurely sleep in, we headed out into our neighbourhood of Bricktown (which is the epicentre for restaurants and …

Oklahoma has been in a drought situation for the past three years, with some farmers needing to sell off their livestock. The country reminds of Saskatchewan, with its flat fields and occasional oil pump. But here in Oklahoma we saw cotton fields ...

About 280 miles today and now in Texas staying in a town called Shamrock and hotel called The Blarney Inn. Been out for food and there was a sign on the door 'No Firearms'. A guy came in wearing jeans and shirt with a cap which said 'Sheriff' but did not leave his gun outside - he was the local sheriff
