There were sky divers with flags, helicopters with solders dangling on ropes, tanks, 600 soldiers from Fort Bragg (some of which carried and unfurled a huge flag during the star spangled banner) , cannons fired, the wife of the American Sniper was honored and spoke, and there were fireworks!. Interesting seeing behinds the scenes work that goes into producing championship cars. Everyone there was friendly. We spent about 90 min. there. Back to camp and Kitty and Bobby took off ...

The only blooper was forgetting to take off the lens cap so we have no drone video. We went to the track to watch qualifying, (Kenseth got the pole for the 600), some ladies had a high heel 50 yard race (Wendy Venturini won that race), and a Legends car race (winner - ? ...

... The last time I did this was at 4am in the middle of Kansas with Rittenhouse and Nate. Jenkins. Enough of the highway happenings.

Post-proboscis and morning stretch, I put 4 quarters of air in my tires and drove from Marion to the base of Mount Mitchell Monday morning. I stared and tall Mr. Mitchell stared back. The continental divide provides a rich breeding ground for flash fog and funny little rainstorms. It is funny how a cloud sits to take a rest. I stopped at the ...
