All week the weather forecast called for 50 degrees and heavy rain/thunderstorms during the race. Thankfully, I was prepared. We stayed at the Marriott in downtown Louisville, which made things super easy. Race start time was at 7:30 AM and I woke up at 6:45, threw on my race clothes, and walked out the door.

Somehow we managed to visit Old Louisville (beautiful Victorian homes from the 1800s), the Louisville Slugger Museum (where they make the bats), and Churchill Downs. Tomorrow we are heading to Florida and not sure where we will stop along the way. We are just playing "being retired" without a real plan for the next 3 days. If we find anything exciting we will post it here.

... of bourbon distilling. As we had tasted many a Bulleit bourbon back home (albeit mainly in cans which by the way they do not sell cans of bourbon and cola anywhere in Kentucky, or the USA – the only country they are exported to is…..Australia!) we decided to get our passports stamped and take off for the next distillery, the mighty Jim Beam.

The Jim Beam distillery, another 200 year old distillery and number one bourbon producer in the ...
