... jet airliner from Baltimore to home on Friday. The drive back would be a little much for Will, great and hearty traveler that he is. Thanks to the Mister's plethora of frequent flyer miles, it was a no-brainer for them to grab the essentials and take to the air to make the last travel leg an easy one for our young hero.

In about a mile, the trail followed another logging road and crossed Davidson River on a big bridge that led back to the parking lot. I shuttled the other drivers back to their cars at Gloucester Gap and then we packed the cars up and began the long drive ...

... was especially poignant. We then sorted on the big road trip up BRP, which runs for an unbroken 469 miles, with a 45 mph limit. The scenery from the Cherokee end is chocolate box pretty, and rises above 6000 feet at its zenith. There was a steady stream of vehicles including motor homes, motorbikes and push bikes, but with 'lookovers' every mile or so the pace is steady. I would have loved to be driving my old ...
