    ... west viginia through picturesque farmland and we stopped off at a surprise - a local had made an exact replica of Stonehenge made out of polystyrene foam - foamhenge. One of the perks of doing a trek is the little locally known things that I wouldn't have known about if I was treking alone :) We then arrived at our next campsite - adventures at the gorge.     ... fried pickles--surprisingly they are not nearly as disgusting as they sound. I ate them all.

    So we marked another year of marriage with another drive-in, another minor league ballpark, and the continuation of a geocache-a-day streak, all despite the perfidious rain. We will have to come back at the end of September to try again for the ATV ride, but all in all, it was a good trip.

    Greg and Caroline gave us a great tour around the Radford University campus. Caroline is very happy and Radford and proud of her school. She was happy she got to show Nana around.

    ... buy her a good vacuum cleaner. Caroline loves to vacuum, but never has a good working vacuum. She is all set now.

    After dropping off Greg and Caroline Mom and I drove to the hotel. Mom failed to appreciate my "wing it" style of driving and directions, but we made it safely and had a good night's sleep.

    Today we cycled into Blacksburg via Radford VA. Route 654 , the old Baltimore road was serene and a wonderful early morning view of this part of Virginia. We rode into Newbern and were engaged with the early history of this tiny mountaintop village...the homes dated to the early 19th century. Our life is not easy so we had to continue on busy roads for the remaining 15 miles.....life is tough...: ...
