... lines to contend with but traffic was light and I could at least drive slowly and absorb the splendour. It truly is awesome, mile after mile.

It was meant to be a short day but by the time we stopped for photos plus this and that and something else it was nearly 4:30 before we got to a campsite for the night. Found a nice spot on Lake Couchiching which is separated from Lake Simcoe by a narrow neck of land.

... for me and I was the only one there. It’s very common to have seasonal sites at campgrounds here (actually, that’s true at most places) and there were at least a dozen little trailers and sheds but nobody home. The site I had was level and that’s all I ask - no glamping (glamour camping) for us - with a lovely view of a lake. There were the usual amenities of power and water but I didn’t need them. ... I had a shot on the quad bike. The next day we went to explore Bracebridge the nearest town to here. We walked around the little shops there and got some milkshakes.
