Kat in St Lucia – Arrival Day

... caught fresh fish, and with Caribbean music playing. It was really cool to see the locals dancing – boy can they bust some moves! Even the children were dancing like Britney and Justin Timberlake!
It was just a short visit to the party, as we were all pretty tired from the days traveling. Having headed back to my room I wondered how I would sleep due the jungle noises outside my room! Anyway, in ...

Im Off to St Lucia! The Adventures of Kat

... of this trip, it is also to learn as much about St Lucia as possible to help me provide a true reflection of this exotic Caribbean paradise. I will be checking out lots of hotels and villas which Select Resorts might like to feature and trying some of the activities and excursions on offer to my customers on their holidays - It’s a tough job, but someone’s got to it.

Best of St. Lucia land & sea

... Once off the ship, we followed our guide to our air-conditioned mini bus where we drove through the capital (Castries) viewing the colourful buildings, houses and landscape. Picture perfect.

Our first stop was at Morne Fortune where we had a dramatic overview of the harbour below and of the town. Far away, the island's trademark "The Pitons" could be seen. The view was breathtaking. At that exact moment, I thought to ...

St Lucia

About to run out of time in internet cafe - will write this one up another day! St Lucia looks great - off to the beach.... Took a taxi into the town and had a brief look round. Then we took another taxi to the beach - Rodney Bay. Hired some sun loungers and an umbrella. Lots of swimming in the sea (very nice) and pretty much doing nothing.

Christmas In The Caribbean

We left Barbados for the island of St Lucia which is to the north west, its an old volcanic island with amazing peaks and prehistoric looking jungle fringed by white sand beaches and coconut palms. Our destination was Rodney Bay right at the north of the island to spend Christmas at the marina with the Aussies, Kiwis, Canadians, French, German, American, British etc etc . On Christmas Eve we took a bus ride into Castries which is the capital to have a look around at the ...

It Really Does Rain in The Rainforest

... waters. The waters are supposed to be really good for your skin but you end up smelling like rotten eggs for days after. After the volcano, we drove to the outskirts of Soufriere to the Diamond Botanical Garden. Along with other tour groups, we walked the grounds of the garden looking at various different types of tropical foliage. The bushes and shrubs that lined the pathways were bursting with brilliantly colored flowers all growing beneath a canopy of towering trees. It ...
