For our final day in Utah I decided to take the kids to the sight of the 2002 Winter Olympics in Park City, about 20 miles from here. The first thing we saw on arrival was the training pool for aerials. There are 4 ramps, each with a different height, that the skiers go down to practice their tricks. During Iris’ nap the boys headed over to find a tv at the campground to watch a little Father’s Day Nascar racing. They drove 2 hours to pick us up which was huge and then another 2 hours back home. When we got to the house it was dark. We walked in and wow! One of ...

... I found Raw Bean Coffeehouse and stopped to write for a while. The baristas Alyssa & Unknown were trying to decide between playing Thievery Corporation and Bonobo (WHY DO YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE?). Thievery Corp. won out and fueled a caffeinated writing fiesta. After the tunnelvision wore off and I couldn't sit any longer, I jumped on my bike for a loop around the city. The tour began up the hill to the State Capitol. Such a beastly, possibly illegal grade. Speaking of beasts, the ...

... are instrumental to the Mormons. We took a short tour, given by two young Mormon women, that showed us the inside of the tabernacle (hence the name of the famous choir) and the Meeting Hall, which is where their main worship is held. Inside the first visitor center we went in (there are two for the Temple Square) we saw exhibits that show how the cathedral was built. The cathedral, which ...
