New York New York
New York New York I was pretty exhausted once I arrived in New York as you can't fly direct from Cuba and I had an 8 hour lay over in Cancun. I didn't read my travel agents email properly which meant I had taken myself to the hotel where the contiki tour was to start and not to the one she had booked me into for the first three nights. Skyline …
Tour Day número uno!
So my day by myself in NYC consisted of getting up super early and taking the subway over to Brooklyn to walk across and see the Brooklyn bridge. I had a great photo taken with the city and the bridge in the background. After my walk across back into Manhattan I found a Starbucks to get my morning caffeine fix. I was just wondering around on …

Enjoyed our stay
Great hotel, good size rooms, very clean and pleasant. Deli opposite very handy for snacks, rolls etc. Would stay there again.
Great hotel
We just got back from an east coast vacation where we spent a night at the Skyline Hotel. I would highly recommend it, especially if you need parking. At $8 a day, you can't beat the price or convenience. Our room was beautiful, with a comfortable king bed for my husband and me and a pull out sofa for the kids. Everything was very clean, as well as stylish. We found the best price on the hotel's own website and paid $119. There is a good pizza joint across the street and a reasonably good deli very near that sells breakfast sandwiches, a small assortment of grocery items and has an ATM. We felt safe in the neighborhood.
Family Friendly
Though we were told that Hell's Kitchen is a scary area, we had a blast. My husband and I vacationed with our two children. Upon check-in, we were told they were out of the double rooms and they gave us at no extra charge a suite. Through ... we paid $90 a night.Avoid the restaurant. There are much better selections around and even some really great grocers in the area.We didn't use the parking, but at $8 a day, you can't beat it! We saw many spots that charge more than $8 for a half hour. The pool is noisy at times, and the limited hours make for a bit of a hassle, but all in all you just can't beat the deal at Skyline Hotel.
Kid-friendly
The Skyline was very clean and kid-friendly. Overall, it is a good value because of the 8 dollar a day parking. The negative side was the terrible showers....no hot water!
Nice Hotel for the price
The Skyline Hotel was a really great deal. The hotel was only $119.00 a night and was just a few blocks from Time Square. Rooms were spacious and clean for downtown NY. Bathrooms were small but really clean. The only complaint I have is that the elevator was old and the halls smelled like smoke. Great deal if you're on a budget!!!
Good Value
For those seeking a clean, spacious room close to Times Square at a reasonable price, this is the property for you. Stayed in one of the recently renovated rooms with a king and sofa bed for $99.00 a night. Parking is a steal at only $8.00 per night. The heated swimming pool was a hit with my kids. Service was prompt and the staff was courteous. Room could have used a coffee maker and alarm clock, however.
Great rate, cheap parking
The Skyline is on 10th avenue at 49th street, otherwise known as Hells Kitchen. It's really close to everything midtown, but just a few blocks west so it becomes more affordable. The newly remodeled rooms cost about $10 more a night but are worth it. The bathroom was large and in great condition. Best of all, guests enjoy parking under the hotel at only $8/night. Any other hotel would charge $45/night. Something to consider if you're driving into the city, where parking for a weekend can cost as much as an additional night's stay. Didn't eat in the restaurant but enjoyed a drink in the bar while watching the big-screen TV after a day of walking through Central Park. Lots of restaurants in walking distance to choose from, and little bakeries for morning treats. A great choice if you're on a budget.
Great Location
A great hotel, very clean with helpful staff. Breakfast wasn't brilliant but the evening meal was a great improvement. Rooms are very comfortable and the location of the hotel is very good, only a 5 minute walk from Times Square and all the attractions. A great place to stay in a really great city.
Great Bargain
Excellent place to sleep at a very good price. Very small rooms but very clean bathrooms. I stayed here during the summer and walked from the bus station in about 15 minutes. Very quiet but make sure you do not get a room near the elevator - somewhat noisy. I will definately stay here again.
Godd hotel in a great location
My sister and I stayed here in August 2002. Great location! Close to Times Square and great restaurants. Neighborhood was very quite. Lots of corner grocery shops for a quick snack. A liquor store was across the street. The room was well furnished, tastefully decorated and clean. Front desk staff slow and not too interested in helping guests. Overall a great stay. I would recommend this hotel.
