Sky Valley Lodge B&B Steamboat Springs

Despite what you're probably thinking right now the title to this blog isn't intended to scare or startle you. Today was the drive up to steamboat to visit my brother, Boo, at school!!! YAAAAAAY.

... and chatted for a little while; we spoke about leaving rock piles and other signs for each other on the road if in front. They had left me two signs carved into the gravel but I’d missed them. We all took off up the hill a 6 mile steep dusty climb and they were right behind me for a while, then they were gone. I left them a message in the gravel and went on. Had an easy morning. We headed into the ski area and took the Gondola up to the mountain top. We met Kelli , her son Dustin and her nephew for lunch on the top of the mountain. It was $9 for the ride and with that you got a $9 coupon towards lunch. Everyone was dressed up for St Pats. Afterwards we went back to the hotel for a nap and then ...

... find Kelli. We met at a bar called "Slopeside". Everyone was sitting outside at tables set on the snow. The sun was out and it felt really warm. I think I saw Jessie from the Batchelor there with some of his friends. We partied the night away and got home aroune 10.

... I would see. This four days has changed my entire (well most of my entire) view on americans - some of the friendliest people i have ever met and some of the most spectacular and vast scenery i have ever seen. Thank you so much Steve and Lorraine for sharing this little snippet of your life and your home with me - I hope I can try and repay the favour one day! Off to San Francisco tomorrow morning......who knows when I will get to blog again so enjoy!

... to visit Dinosaur National Monument on the way. The cliff face inside the Dinosaur Quarry Visitor Center has some 1,500 dinosaur bones embedded in the side of a mountain. ... there comes a problem which makes me want to sit in the gutter and give up. If I keep on moving though, the problems tend to get left behind. Please keep in touch. I seem to be receiving more text messages now, so maybe all of them are getting through on my USA mobile which Vicki has put in the intro. I'll get off. I will update again if I can. I suspect I will have more free time from now on, but I will be camping in the middle of nowhere more often and staying in less developped places.

it is such an honor to serve such ridiculously beautiful food! i couldnt help but take pictures last night! so dont look unless you have already eaten or you will find yourself with a foot long string of drule from your lips! ;) haha...as servers we always get to taste the extra leftovers..we are so spoiled! i have never tried entres with such crazy names in all my life! tasty, tasty!! :)

Up at Lovin Ovens, another kitchen I watched them construct huge rock ovens and had so much fun slinging mud into the crevices to finish them.
