... city, did a bit of shopping, and ate some good food. My friend introduced me to a great pizza place, we had Burger King once, ate at a good Chinese place, and went to one of my favourite coffee shops. It was just nice to get away for a couple days and take a break before exams began. This week is Christmas and I will be having dinner with some friends to celebrate. I was part of a Christmas party that my friend put together for her students in the language school where she works. It ...

One it is nice to see the kids doing something outside of the classroom and two I had seen them participating and wanted to ...

... as I chose this program with the idea of having someone in power (our admin) in our corner, but here we are literally at the mercy of the Chinese administration. I walked into my class the other day and found four strange looking UV lights at the back of the class. I had to ask, because I was curious of course as to why they were there. My students looked at me like I had three heads when I asked what the lights for at the back, as if I was stupid not to know! So ...

... are just disgusting. Besides the smell, it is completely unhygienic as the students now don't even have water to wash their hands. A water truck showed up today and a line of students were made to transport huge buckets of waters to all the bathrooms in order to flush them properly. There are 10 floors in our building with about 6 bathrooms on each floor, and at least 5-6 toilets in each. In order to curb the smell and actually dispose of the waste properly it will most likely ...
