Spent my Christmas break with family in Aspen! We had a lot of fun with our good friends. Skied almost everyday, ate out at wonderful restaurants, shopping and hot tubbing. Went to the wheeler opera house for New Year's Eve and had a wonderful time. Best snow in at least 6 years.. We were so lucky!
The group had to go back to their wives and jobs, so I changed venues to Aspen and the glorified motel called the Sky Hotel. As it has been all season, my snow luck continues with a foot of new snow that rolls in time to make 28,500 ft of vertical quite fluffy.
Once ensconced in our space in Basalt, we visited Larry and Kathy at their newly-rebuilt hotel in Aspen which was, in Kathy's words, "Just darling!" Chris, the on-site manager, suggested Happy Bowl for supper and we all found it some of the best Thai curry we ever ate. Spent Wednesday in Crested Butte, a skiing town about an hour away from the cabin. Fun artsy town, great shops and restaurants
