Vilnius - Day 2 City Tour

... It was hard to imagine until I saw the film.

It was the perfect way to end my visit to Gedimina. I was left alone with a 2 others watching the film so the staircases were empty and I moved quickly. I thought the climb up to the tower was difficult but walking down was a struggle. It ...

... to build a nice castle.

I have to say I was shocked. Not by the castle itself, which was not extremely interesting except for its location, nor by the exhibit (been there, seen it..) or the souvenirs (don't need that junk), but by the enormous amount of tourists. ... about 1.15am, so a late night for us! The city lights were on with bridges lit up with coloured lights and all looked amazing. As a bonus we finally saw several beavers and one swam alongside our kayak for a while. Just out of Riga is Jurmala, 32km of white sand beaches which is the largest beach resort in Latvia. We had a brief stop here on our way up to Cape Kolka, the northern tip of Latvia where the Gulf of Riga meets ...
