And then there is the chorus of happy-go-lucky international volunteers and students in Vilnius, whose names I don't remember. There was a nice Georgian room-mate, and a nice Spanish girl, and some nice boys from France, Poland.. (Why is it always easier to remember somebody's nationality than it is to remember their name?)

... something we'd hoped to do since seeing it on our first venture out. I had salmon tartare and Bob ordered a 'traditional' herring plate and a shrimp and vegetable tempura (I helped him out). The sun was shining, the food was good and the wine was crisp; we sat and watched, if not the world, at least Vilnius go by. Perfect!

I had not seen him in over 7 years, so I rushed to the front of the stage.
