    ... from our apartment we have a great beach, nice for swimming. The water is admittedly cool by Muscat standards but even I have had a good long swim. The area is very nice, good beaches, lots of restaurants and bars but obviously aimed a families rather than the 'young' crowd. Interestingly lots of Bulgarian and Rumanian cars here and I would agree a better choice than the Black Sea. The prices are 'European' though and twice as much as we paid in ...

    ... of badly pronounced in Russian and Arabic. I spoke Arabic in Turkey and Russian in Bulgaria, it was good for shopping.

    ... but in general the street food is not very healthy...they love tomatoes , cucumbers, feta cheese and yogurt at every meal. Surprisingly they are really into French fries.We didn't see other churches or synagogues just Greek Orthodox Churches and Monasteries.     ... going to the ferry; we swapped directions and were on our way! Very typical for our Greek experience!

    We boarded the bus for Thessaloniki heading to our next bus to the Thessaloniki airport. There we will catch another bus for a 90 minute ride to the conference hotel. Travel gets a little complicated here, no trains, all bus and ferry. We should arrive around midnight.
