... to a lady from the good old USA and after all the excitement she invited me to join her and her husband and friends for dinner.

18h30 and it was time for dinner and a wonderful one at that. Unlike most of my other wonderful adventures around the world I normally head home looking like a stick insect but on this trip it looks like its going to be the opposite as I seem to have eaten extremely well during this adventure.

We crossed the Arctic Circle this morning at 7.10 . It is marked by a globe located on a a small island and an announcement over the ship's tannoy.
The day has gone quite slowly since,the major excitement being that the diligent cabin maids removed our empty water bottles which we use to smuggle water into the restaurant in order to avoid paying nearly £2.50 for a new bottle with every meal.Its very sad but Alison was so affronted by this treatment that she asked ...

... seeing the cozy shops and many people. Again it got dark quite fast. Geoff and Tracy went to the Aviation Museum. Dad stayed on the ship. Unfortunately Bodø was heavily damaged in WW2 and when it rebuilt it did not do so with any type of charming architecture.

After a very good nights sleep we go down to breakfast at about 7:30. The buffet breakfast has a very larger choice of things to eat (scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, kjottbullar, 5 types of ham, salami, smoked salmon, cheeses, dishes of various vegetables, various breads, jams, yoghurt, various cereals, etc.!) so we have a very good breakfast. We then go out to do some shopping for supplies for the Hurtigruten voyage. We manage to find the entrance to the REMA 1000 ...
