... 20 seater bus and headed up country to the village of Kitui, where one of Usha's staff comes from. Usha has been supporting the village with monthly donations of food (maize and similar) and additional gifts as available. ... the baby elephants we visited the Giraffe Centre, where they are trying to save the sub-species of giraffe called the reticulated giraffe with a breeding program. The giraffes there are only for breeding so they weren’t too concerned with overexposure to humans. So we actually fed the giraffes by hand! And if you hold the food pellet in your mouth, the giraffe will kiss you! It was really cool to be so close to these amazing animals.
