After a break, headed off from town in the other direction, to explore a few little beaches in that direction. Before the final one, came across a group of hairy brown howlers (?), including a mother & baby feeding on yellow fruits. Had seen signs earlier warning not to feed them, so happy to finally catch sight – they don’t seem too interested in the huge durian that are prolific, both on the ground and trees here – you can’t miss the smell of ...
... After walking a few metres I spotted another one of the unidentified animals that we saw yesterday and chased it in the trees. They definitely aren't sloths, they are far too quick. It's more like an opossum.
The girls promised us monkeys and as we were walking back I spotted a huge family of howler monkeys right above us. We sat and watched them for a bit, and tried to entice them ...
... that we snorkelled in. Then we travelled to
another bay called the Green Lagoon where again we snorkelled although there
wasn’t as many fish here but there was some brightly coloured corals. Our next
stop was Lover’s Beach which was a tiny beach and then travelled a short
distance for the lunch stop at a restaurant right on the water. Our final stop
was a nice beach where we saw a family of howler monkeys in the tree at the
... first proper beach day. An enjoyable 40 minute journey later we reached a secluded tiny beach with almost no people visible from the ocean... No waves either (was this what everyone was raving about!?) A little bit worries we got off the boat and walked the long pier to see a sign saying 'Lopes Mendez 1km, 30 min --->' so we weren't actually at the right beach just yet. It was us plus Claire and no one had warned us about the 'little' ...
... coloured fish look even better after a vat of Caipirinhas, and gets rid of a hangover in a flash!
