      ... wide boy. Like Karl Pilkington but thinking his ignorance/stupidity is cool. We didn't have to put up with him long but he is the first of his type I've met.

      In the evening the core contingent ate at a nice beachside reasturant. I'm digging the brazilian food but they were very slow. We were later joined by the other guys from the bus pluis Rosh from Rio who came down a day earlier. All very nice and chill I headed to bed around 11:30.

      ... driven on the boat round to the northern tip of the island where we hiked round past the church ruins and were explained some of the islands history. On the final boat back to the mainland the staff made us caipirinha's and everyone was having a sing along.       ... two hours with our 20kg bags in the oppressive humidity, surrounded by relentless mosquitos. We became sick of the sentence "we have no vacancies" and were struck with luck when a wiggly happy man offered us an annex up a billion stairs.

      ... as we arrived late most of the good spots were taken, we do find a small spot though and stay for a couple of hours, but have to move when the tide came in, so we headed back to the Pousada to chill in the pool. That evening we went back to the great bruschetta restaurant on the beach to eat. Whilst there we saw loads of crabs on the beach heading down from the town to the water.
