... and some ruins. Joined the group that had their sight set on visiting a waterfall, only an extra 3kms added on, but were rewarded with seeing some howler monkeys and blue crabs. 20000 steps and a lovely ice cold beer at the end. Out for dinner to excellent pizza joint and walk back to fabulous lodgings nestled in the fringe of the jungle.

another boat ride back to the mainland and on to Rio for the last leg of the tour.

The next morning, after our first hostel swap, we headed off into the jungle in hope of finding Lopes Mendez, the seventh most beautiful beach in the world. The path started steep and the day was hot, needless to say we were sweaty. Enroute we stopped on Saco de Palmas and Pouso, 2 more gorgeous beaches, for a sarnie, a beer, a swim and a nap. Had food (rice, beans and chicken) at a very good restaurant on the shore/beach. Its the low season so everyone has been giving "extras" ...

... enough we detzd it and began the walk around 4 o'clock. Kind of sketchy as the sun sets around 6 & some of the walk would definately not be kosha in the dark. There were heaps of freaky sounding noises coming from the jungle which was a little unsettling, but I had a pretty decent stick on me to fight off the Jaguars. Just made it back as darkness fell. Bought some dinner & beer when a power cut happened.. Chilling in candle ...

... dishes. The food was amazing. Mussels the size of and old 50p, fish in a coconut and banana sauce with rice and a beer and soda to wash it down! Happy days! I bought an anklet on the way home as I feel like a traveler with an anklet on! On our return to the room, they had sorted out the water issues we'd been having all day, however the shower had been left on so the room was like a sauna! Ac to the max and bring on ...
