After a break, headed off from town in the other direction, to explore a few little beaches in that direction. Before the final one, came across a group of hairy brown howlers (?), including a mother & baby feeding on yellow fruits. ... that we snorkelled in. Then we travelled to
another bay called the Green Lagoon where again we snorkelled although there
wasn’t as many fish here but there was some brightly coloured corals. Our next
stop was Lover’s Beach which was a tiny beach and then travelled a short
distance for the lunch stop at a restaurant right on the water. Our final stop

As per The Plan<TM> I stayed in bed until 12ish to fight off any sign of a hangover. I wasn't missing much, it had been raining all night with no sign of letting up. Having said goodbye to Carl (for good) and the couple James and Lucy (who we'll remet in Paraty) I spent the day sorting photos, reading and playing cards in the hostel.

Left lovely Paraty at 8.30am for a leisurely 2 hr drive up the coast. Great sights with jungle, mangrove swamps and sea views all the way. Hopped on a small catamaran and headed out to Ilha Grande which is a tourist Island about an hour off the mainland. It was initially a quarantine Island but now has hotels, backpackers and heaps of restaurants. It was very busy there but can certainly handle lots of people. ... coloured fish look even better after a vat of Caipirinhas, and gets rid of a hangover in a flash!
