... The weather was hot and sunny and we spent the weekend on the lake shore, relishing the lack of rain and wind. ... new cabana with its good showers (2), tiled floors, gas heater, and comfy beds - a room each. The rain eased off, provisions were bought, Robin was chief chef and we settled in for the night.
Today the sun is shining and we are able to glimpse (through cloud) the two volcanoes at the end of the lake. Day off and bike cleaning day. Robin's comment - the rain did a lot of good helping to rid the bike of dust and dirt!

... clearly wasn't the way most people walked on the 'lake side track'. The walk turned into more of a 'bush bashing' exercise and we stumbled our way across the 100m section of lakeside. With only a few scratches, jumps across rocks in the water and crawling between entangled tree branches, we made it to another small beach. Sensibly, we decided to take the path up into the forest and found the correct path back to the start of the walk.
... just don't do them justice it was so nice the be here in the off season as we pretty much had the falls to ourselves it was so quite and tranquil the water was crystal clear the clearest river I have ever seen it was like looking into glass. We decided to take the iPad as well so we could put up some pics for everyone to see, we have heaps more on the camera can't wait to eventually down load them. Immediately there is a chorus of “no,” and lots of laughter.One girl suddenly plucks up some courage,“I like U2 and Oasis”, more laughter from the rest of the girls.
So I name some more bands and there are shouts of “yes” and “no”
“Where you are from in England?” one girl ventures.
I say London,(although not strictly true).
