... of nature and my self talk of trying to stay on pace I made it back to the parking lot at dusk, 9 miles from when I started. To say I was exhausted was an understatement.

I considered making the drive 55 miles north towards Yellowstone, but I didn't know what I would encounter when I got there, and I would be finding my way in the dark. I knew I needed food asap and a place to sleep, so I turned south to head back towards Jackson Hole. ...

... we still sat around the fire. The other group had left but another had moved in, which was lead by a friend of Amanda's, so I was happy for her again to spend some time with a friend. She had spoken to her boss and on their advice gave Ernie a warning that if he didn't improve his behaviour immediately he would be told to leave the tour. Apparently he told Andy and Dave he would leave the group in Salt Lake City, but unfortunately they talked him into ...

We were supposed to hike all the way up Mount Washburn. But, close to the top. Maeve's and Molly's , my, hair started standing straight up. It had been raining for a while so we had sorry of figured it would start lightning but we had hoped we would be at the bottom of the mountain. We sat under a rock cover for. A few. People walked right by us and their hair was standing STRAIGHT up. And they were going up!!! After few minutes we decided ...

... look for wildlife behind Jackson Lodge. We saw lots of Elk and birds, but didn't get to see a moose or bear. But it was still a great way to end our stay there. The ranger had a big spotting scope, so we could see the animals up close, and she showed us some of the cool stuff in the mountains. It was a nice way to wrap up our stay, and we were ready to head to Yellowstone - probably the place Dean and I had been looking forward to the most on this trip.
