The snorkelling was good too. I can't get over how warm the water is in this area. So straight in I went and there were plenty of fish to see. Not many varieties but plenty of stripy ones. Most were very close to the surface and you didn't need a snorkel to see themThere was also lots of those spiny sea urchins too and those spines looked nasty but thankfully they were a long way down.

So I went back off the beach and into the village behind and found a really friendly Thai man who seemed very genuine and was willing to give me a nice room with AC for 800 baht a night instead of his usual price of 1200. The room wasn't swanky at all but it had a soft bed and a nice bathroom. Bonus too the tv had English channels and I had a fridge. He also provided a litre of bottled water ...

I also got to visit the furniture factory and am looking forward to getting new furntiure from them when I'm back in Germany.

... beat bed bugs (all the bites are gone! Huzzah!), was almost tossed out of long tail boats on more than one occasion, discovered 5 different islands, slept in a jungle and now, most notably, have been adopted by a Thai family.
Maybe this is no sunrise over Ankor Wat, but it's been a hell of a lot more interesting than an all inclusive resort. I'm going to have a hard time leaving this place. I think I might be falling in love with Thailand... it was just playing hard to get at first. ...
