Today we spent a majority of the day at the Summer Palace. This was probably my favorite thing we have done so far. There were so many different levels and paths that you could take--we just spent hours walking around, taking in the view and photographing all of the things we ran into. For a portion of the time I got to rock climb which was a really fun way to find all the nooks and crannies and take some great photos. About half ...

... to tower 20 (originally I was going to turn back, but I'm known for rash/stupid decisions. I looked at the stairs, they were so steep I could just see tower 20, oh well off I went.

The first 50 or 60 stairs were fairly easy(LOL) by this time I had my coat off and still climbing. Every time I took my eyes off the steps in front and looked up I hadn't seemed to get any closer so head down and keep on climbing.

It was really starting to get to me ...

... The Lama Temple is a buddhist temple that used to be a princes palace. The temple is fairly large but we managed to see it all. There are many Buddha's and the local populace would bring many incense to burn and pray with. The main attraction is a giant sandalwood buddha that is a few stories high. It was faily impressive to think of that giant statue being made with one piece of wood. Unfortunately like a lot of places, photagraphy was not allowed ...
