        ... bamboo parasols and I couldn't resist! The whole group waited for me until I bought this beautiful hand-painted parasol and i was sooo happy :)

        ... even though it was compressed to a very small package weighing only 2 kg - that's 2 kg we don't have to spare in our luggage!! The rest of the day we spent recovering from the heat then wandering through the streets near our hotel. Just nearby is 'Snack Street', a row of stalls where fast food is cooked on the spot - crab, octopus, meat?, dumplings - quite an amazing array.         ... and unfortunately the lady who was about 10 toboggans in front of us had been using her brake the whole way down and this had caused a backlog. I thought it was pork, but I was soon to find out that wasn't the case.
