Today, we are set for our first formal visits to potential partners. This was at the Chinese Society of Technical and Vocational Education in Beijing. To go there, we have been able to see how Beijing is a big city.

Partnerships were signed with EMSB, and the traditional exchange of gifts occurred. This is a long-standing tradition, and is expected after every meeting.

... eaten there! This meal was paid for by the UW Madison University, so that was really awesome! So far in my trip, this has been my favorite experience. We got to see the beauty and design of Chinese architecture and landscape, eat real traditional Chinese food, and see and hear entertainment of Chinese culture. It was amazing. Tomorrow, we are going to the Temple of Heaven, and the Pearl market. We have to meet in the lobby at 6:45, and we have a full day!

We tackled through bushes and I can honestly hold up my hands and say 'I nearly fell off the Great Wall of china!' Ha ha - clumsy me stumbled and knocked a rock and held onto the 1 foot high wall I ...

... we've visited the palace is ripe with history and if I can come up with a brief summary I'll include it here. From the Summer Palace we moved on to a Jade factory. China is a big source of Jade and has some excellent craftsmen who work with it to produce some fine jewellery, sculptures and, in the case of this particular factory, the medals for the 2008 Beijing Olympics which included jade as one of their components. Well, the highlight of the day was The Great Wall of China. My ...
