The case sets off on its journey

... back with us.

So with many a phone call, lots of emails and around a dozen documents to print out - the case is on it's way. We now just have to hope it gets there in one piece - what are the odds of it getting there before us, and even more important before the ship sails.

So just two cases and some hand luggage left to pack, better find those socks!

The planning starts here...

This is just to get the ball rolling as it were.
Our aim is to have a life laundry over the next few months. Plan our year long trip through Europe. Sell or pass on to others things we need. Buy and equip a motor home. Produce a photo/video documentary of the trip.

Journey's End

Last brief entry, just to say we are safely back home, arriving yesterday with Sue picking us up at Manchester airport.

We've had a fantastic trip - very memorable! Thank you for following our trip. Hope it hasn't been boring, certainly hasn't for us.

Same can be said to all my cousins that I met there ...

Day 5 - 404 miles in 3 AA Tow Trucks

Tow truck 2, turns up at 15:29 and we are off again for the next leg of the journey, Stirling Services to Lancaster Services. This journey takes around 4 hours and I have a nice chat with the driver, Jim all the way. We phone ahead and arrange the next tow truck to meet us at Lancaster at 19:15, guess what? Yes, it wasn't there and I am told it won't be there until 20:15 and it finally arrives at 20:30

... in every directions by really nearly houses of people living here. There's barely 30m between the stands and the houses. After entering the stadium, which doesn't impress by its size and capacity (only 45'000), but by the impression of entering a living museum. We got a fairly good You'll never walk alone, but I prefer to remember it as You'll never win again :-) Nothing special to say about the game, it was good but nothing really special. The ...

Manchester via Birmingham!

... Bon Jovi concert on that night, Marc was keen to go! but ****, not wasting my money on that ****. We have checked out the City of Manchester Stadium and had a tour of the ground which is home to Marc's team - Manchester City and the 2002 Commonwealth games. Tomorrow I am off to Dumfries, south of Scotland to meet up with my cousin Gregg. Eventually back to London Friday/Saturday for a 3pm coach from London to Frankfurt for the World Cup!

Blackpool

John took me to Blackpool. He may have wanted to show me a UK beach resort. The street along the beach was full of decorations. I took a picture of his profile in the car. It was just a memory of Blackpool. We were on the way from Preston, where we met his old friend, and John talked about the word "love", because people there used "love" meaning "you" very often, when they talk to someone, like "Good morning, love!". That sounded awkward to him.
