... neck village, but it didn't feel at all authentic. These women believe that having a longer neck is more beautiful, so they wear a heavy gold spiral around their neck that's meant to elongate it. Every few years, the spiral is lengthened, so their necks can become longer over time. Nowadays some women are choosing not to do it, since it's not good for their health, but many young girls there were still wearing them. Tomorrow will be a long one: getting up at 4am to start my 3 ...

Day 2

Today has been insane. In a good way. I woke up after sleeping like a rock (go Charlotte!), and I barely at breakfast (as usual). We had read that some of the ...

... they leave the clinic their diet goes back to what they have been eating because of financial reasons. In Thailand i feel that majority of people with health problems are the ones who have low finances. They said that munks are the usual ones who have diabetes because they are not allowed to exercise, no dancing, they must walk slow, bare feet, cannot touch woman, and if they come to clinic a female nurse can only take vital signs and then a male nurse or dr. must ...

Final thoughts on Chiang Rai
It is nice. There are some touristy things to see and do. There are a lot of big markets scattered all around the city. It is quite busy during the day, and busy around the markets at night. Transport is cheap to get around places, but you only get the occasional beep from a passing taxi. People are less pushy here which is a nice change. The days are warm (even hot at points) and the evenings are cooler but easy to handle.
