We decided to go to Mondsee next which is another lake town. It was very pretty as it was surrounded by mountains on all sides. There was one restaurant open there which was right on the lake front and had a lovely view. We had some lunch there and watched the tour busses come through. I'm glad we got a car and can explore in our own time is all I'm going to say about that haha!

... in the middle. Our tour continued across the Salz river and a ‘love lock’ bridge into the old city which was dotted with churches and towered over by a medieval fortress. It seems we had arrived in time for the annual celebration of the patron saint of Salzburg - St Rupert -so the city squares featured rides, beer halls and souvenir stands. And gave me strong sense of deja vu. Everywhere you turned there appeared to be a gothic church and we made notes of the things ...
