1-11-14 Rabius to Stelvio
Todays trip through the Alps was by far the best day yet of this adventure. When I left the hotel in Rabius the temp was only 2 Celsius but the sun was shining and for sure I knew it was only going to get better.

Stayed around the campsite throughout the morning reading

Note from Val: Today we took a guided tour into the mountains east of the town of Obergurgl (up the Gaisbergferner glacier valley) to search for garnets. We were well equipped for the task, with our hammer and chisel borrowed from our hotel.
