... Steinen nach dem Zug, wenn sie nichts bekamen. Zum Glück waren wir weit vorn im Zug, da haben die Kinder immer nur gewunken, aber die hinteren Abteile haben dann doch Steine abbekommen. ... went better than expected; they had to read through a story which they did with ease and then rearrange sentences about the story into the correct order. The latter they had an awful lot of trouble with simply because it is one thing to be able to read a story in another language, but it is another thing entirely to comprehend the meaning and then be able to answer questions about it. Most amazing thing was feeding the Giraffes though…actually out of our hands, like a horse. Scarlett didn’t like the Giraffe slobber but I thought it was brilliant (feeding them not the slobber!!).

Second Day
... passed packed market stalls selling fruit and vegetables, second hand clothes to tyres. It was a bit daunting to see all these people bustling about town and it was even scarier when we were told cheerfully that this was our stop and that we had to get off of the bus! Just walking through the streets was an ordeal! It was all such a shock to my senses and it didn't help that our fairly large group of nine or so kept getting split up due the sheer volume of people there. ...
