What is it about the beautiful rhythm of the rice terraces that is so mesmerising? The village itself is very attractive with old woodent buildings but it is the everchanging terraces that are breathtaking.
The terraces are quite high and the ...
Well we are now on the last leg of our mammoth trip! One week today we will be on the flight home and we are looking forward to arriving back in Australia.
As you know our trip has been fantastic and we thought nothing could top Egypt but we are now experiencing so many fantastic things we are not so sure!!!
We arrived in Guangzhou at 10 .30 and managed to get through customs etc and out to look for our welcome party. First ...
... the airport which was really awesome, it goes over 300mph and is levitating, so it's like riding on a plane when the plane sways from one side to the other. It took 8mins only!!
Pudong airport is supposed to see a lot of transfer passengers each year apparently, but really it didn't look very big (although I only used the terminal 2 building to be fair).
Shenzhen airlines were excellent, very good and I enjoyed the ...
... just treat the city as a means to get to Sanya in the south of the island which is where I was headed for the last leg of my journey. No. 19 buses were nowhere to be found for the return trip (must have been hanging out at the gas station again). Someone assured me that the No.21 went straight to the airport with no need to connect to the airport bus. Sounded simpler & cheaper so I was in. The bus driver dropped me & some others off. I could see no airport in sight but he ...

Silloin olin luullut sita viiniksi. Jokatapauksessa se vei rinkassani aivan liikaa tilaa eika se paljon mitaan maksanut. Sainpahan taas joukon pienia Kiinalaisia iloisiksi.

Haikou, China bertil... boneless duck dish that we had noticed on the menu the day before, but the waiter tried to steer us away from this to a steamed chicken which was their specialty. We compromised and had half of each. No problem. In China, if you want half a dish you pay half the price. The chicken was indeed very good, It's probably all free range here, certainly tastier than the chicken back home. We ordered a different eggplant dish, tempting as it was ...
Bei Hei, Guangxi, China raymondc... around. It even rated an official street sign. We met the first Caucasian we had seen on this trip, an Englishman who has a factory in Shenzhen. He had promised his Chinese partner that they would speak to the first foreigner they met, so we had a short conversation. They were staying in the Beach Hotel, but could not tell us what the restaurant was like as they had not eaten there. We spent an hour in the Business Centre catching up on our email, then decided to ...
