In the morning, Helen and Carlo dropped me off at a park and said we would have lunch in the mountains later. I walked around and had a nap, then met them, excited for lunch, at their office again. Suddenly, the restaurant wasn't open, and we went to this ****** sushi place. OK, fine, whatever.

After a managable 11 hours sitting in the plane, it was a relief to walk around again in the Guangzhou airport. The immigration officers were so slow to work through the queues that I was stood in line for over an hour waiting to get my passport stamped. Eventually I passed through and got directed to a shuttle bus which took us through the city of Guangzhou for a long drive to our hotel accommodation. ...

Guangzhou is the 3rd biggest city in China, and definitely my favorite.
The fastest, cheapest, cleanest subway system I have ever seen.
MANY huge public parks. And much like Beijing, Guangzhou has an ancient town alleyway zone, and a modern skyscraper zone. Although, every street I went on, was fairly narrow, with minimal traffic. There are trees and shade everywhere.

    Guangzhou is the leading ...
