... and I wandered the streets of Seattle. We went by the Space Needle, walked Pike Place Market, even got a chance to visit my cousin Kristin's salon. Now I am back at Kristin's house, printing and making copies of all our travel documents and reservations. Our flight leaves at 6:00am tomorrow, and we will not be arriving in the UK unitil Thursday morning at 7:00am.
Tacoma, Washington, United States beckyprincess... back in the parking garage, get our **** out of the car, and after two attempts actually find the office to turn our keys in. The couple ahead of us was already working with the one agent, and apparently they had an accident with their vehicle. The process of clearing up that information was lengthy, and twenty minutes later we were called to the counter. Of course, our return itself too like eight seconds. After that, it ...
Seattle, Washington, United States secrex... eat pretzels. They're okay, but not quite as exciting. DFW is huge! There is a train inside the airport! It's called the SkyLink and it takes passengers from terminal to terminal. There are no seats and no driver, only an automated voice that tells you to "hold on, please". And when a robot voice tells you to do something, by golly, you do it-especially when you're traveling on a rapidly-moving tram on ...
Tacoma, Washington, United States mksquared... Vietnamese, even cooler! More of architectureness, we saw the Seattle's City Hall, LEED GOLD YEAH! By some random, very nice :) Across the street, NBBJ's Court of Justice Building, kinda looked similar to some random's. Couldn't get in, it was the Court of Justice, DUH! But nice from the outside, LEED SILVER!!! YEAH!!! Space was seen, wasn't worth ...
Seattle, Washington, United States ho.k.bell... are a reserved and private people but are quick to respond to the first greeting. When there are 1.3 billion people in a country, westerners are a novelty outside of the big cities. The history of the country is unbelievable and they are learning everyday how to improve their preservation of that history. Our hosts were outstanding and our experiences with their family were a highlight of the trip. We thank them and wish them all the best.
Seattle, Washington, United States wephenn... is?", "What day of the week is it?", "What platform do we have to run to and how much time do we have?", "How many more stairs?", "What does the pedometer read?" and finally, "How many pictures did we take today?" TOP picks in no particular order: Switzerland, Croatia and Greece, and all for different reasons: Switzerland: The clean fresh mountain air, clean white snow adorning the Alps, crystal blue skies, birds chirping outside our room at dawn ...
Seattle, Washington, United States rlineurope... in a sourdough bowl for $6 or less. we also thought it was appropriate to focus on seafood given our proximity to the fishmarket. so sunday night was trivial pursuit nite. YAY?!?! 80's edition, US style no less. if you took a stab and said michael dukakis, donald trump, Ronald reagan or mikael gobachev, chances were that you were getting pie. we were playing with a scottish civil engineer called rich, who had just worked the banff ski season as a ...
Tacoma, Washington, United States manya... they would just melt into the snow, silent as the tentacles of fog creeping through the trees. The silence was wonderful, is wonderful, for it is still occurring even as I sit in my tiny room at PLU, listening to the heater wheeze and my roommate clomp around calling people. Even now, perhaps hordes of miniscule snowflakes are sifting through the tall snow-laden pines on the slopes of the volcano, an endless procession through the bitter night air. Whispering secrets of frozen ...
Tacoma, Washington, United States eclipseyes... knows ... it's time to just do it! With so many people here in Seattle and the Gorge that have become our friends it's time to celebrate and say good bye and hopefully "see you soon". We'd like to get together with you on Saturday, Sept. 30th, between 8:00 - 8:30 p.m. at the Wilde Rover Irish Pub & Restaurant in Kirkland. This is a cool place with nice atmosphere that usually has some live band playing at night ...
Seattle, Washington, United States globekiter... Christmas and wedding presents. A tourist shuttle bus took us to the airport for our 3 hour flight to Dallas Fort Worth airport. After being grilled by the customs officer and having the hardest time getting into any country so far, we tried to reassure ourselves that people were no longer trying to steal the rucksacks from our back and Sian tried to stop twitching as she learnt the shadows on the floor were not cockroaches scuttling over her feet but simply reflections in the ...
