Sorry, a little confused about this blog system--just want some advice on the following: Planning a trip to Ecuador in spring (March/April), but I'm worried about the road conditions. Will we be able to get pretty much anywhere at that time of year in a 4x4, or should I choose another time to vacate and drive in Ecuador? It seems to me very difficult to plan a trip there, since the rainy season on one side of the country is the dry season on the other and vice versa...any advice?
Seattle, Washington, United States mixellexim... It was mostly feminist art and very very interesting. Some of the art itself wasnt great but the older peices on the top floor was nice. I spent 2 hours in there. I was hungry so went in search of a Tim Hortons (it would be my last!). I found one and had my usual soup and bagal combo and a vanilla dip doughnut whilst I people watched. I was in there for well over an hour until it was time to meet Ben at the hostel to collect our bags and go for ...
Seattle, Washington, United States kellybooth16... to the Seattle Center and the Space Needle. We had planned to ride the monorail down to the center, but it was out of order....so we got to experience the busy Seattle transit system.....FUN. Derek did all the rides and games he had planned, and then we headed up the space needle for dinner. Very cool. Very expensive; Very nice finish to a fun trip.
Seattle, Washington, United States donhad... climate and some great scenery. I took up running a few miles a day, just to tire me out so I slept better, there was a disused train track that I used as a path, even had a train on it that I could climb, I'm sure no one minded, it probably was a luxury office for hookers anyway. One day the weather was god enough to get a view of Mt Rainier and Mt St. Helens, seeing as I spent two terms learning about it in ...
Seattle, Washington, United States alex1138Miles so far: 5390 What I ate for dinner: Fresh seafood How much we had to pay in parking for 2 days: $62 At first, I was a little upset at Seattle with its expensive hotel, crazy parking fees and the amount of traffic because of the Seahawk pre-season game, but I got over it. The night, we walked around and checked out the bars which were all empty since everyone was at the game. Since the ...
Seattle, Washington, United States engagedgoingcc... our country. We think Am**ica does a bett** job of acculturating its immigrants than any oth** country. People can disagree with us on this, but this is what we concluded aft** visiting many of the oth** "immigration destinations" in the world. Free Soft Drink Refills - This one was a surprise. Outside of Am**ica free refills are unheard of. In fact, one British guy we met asked us if it was true that most restaurants allow free refills in Am**ica. When ...
Mukilteo, Washington, United States thetembasOur plan was to drive to Mount Rainier today for the next 2 days. Unfortunately, it was raining when we woke up and the forecast was for more rain and highs in the 40's at Mt. Rainier. So, Kelly and I talked about it and decided to head to Seattle 2 days early. We will be in the Seattle area for about 10 days and Kelly has a lot planned, but we'll make Mt. Rainier a day trip. We didn't ...
Bellevue, Washington, United States thesteelesSo, waking up on top the covers, still wearing a little black dress, my new red heels and not knowing exactly where on the map I am... I suddenly get really excited when I realize where I am and what I'm doing!! I gotta go practice!! Yea!!<br> So, we pack up our state of a room and head 10 miles down the highway for Bellvue. Now, Bellvue, but what exit is the lake? Again ...
Bellevue, Washington, United States amybing... home especially after such a long, uncomfortable ride home. We went to Katie's house to decorate sugar cookies which was also a lot of fun, then I got a ride home just in time for dinner. I walked in the door and got 3 big hugs from Mom, Dad, and Kris. Boy, is it good to be home! My Dad looks so good! He has lost so much weight! His face even looks different! I'm so proud of him. When I came back from Chile I didn't ...
Bellevue, Washington, United States mannalie... the hours looking over the SkyMall catalogue and reading a book I've been trying to finish for the last few years. Finally, I'm in Alaska. Kevin's aunt and uncle pick us up from the airport. It is late. I remember last time the cold rush of air outside chilled every part of my body (it was -25 degrees). This time, it is not quite as cold, but still cold. The drive is odd. I remember how dark it is in ...
